Australia: ACCC prosecutes HP for misleading consumers

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has issued formal proceedings in the Federal Court in Sydney against Hewlett-Packard Australia Pty Ltd (HP), for allegedly misleading consumers in warranty and consumer guarantee rights. The court order seeks to include declarations of misconduct followed by pecuniary penalties or injunctions against HP, and will include the implementation of a future compliance program.
