Australia: ACCC to investigate rural gas price disparity

The Australia Competition and Consumer Commission is scrutinizing fuel price discrepancies between regional and metropolitan areas.

The ACCC followed through on directions given last week by Small Business Minister Bruce Billson to analyze why record fuel price falls are not being passed onto regional motorists or users.

The ACCC’s probe aims to ensure that rural Australia and the farming sector also receive the benefits of lower fuel prices without unnecessary delays.
