Australia: Coles wants liquor buyout clearance

Supermarket giant Coles is seeking clearance from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission for its subsidiary Liquorland to acquire retail outlet Cellarbrations in Western Australia. Reports say Liquorland would be forced to give up the Cellerbrations store’s lease, and would be required to stop trading at its current position, where Coles currently has a location, to allow for redevelopment. Reports say the ACCC is seeking comment on the deal until this Friday.
