Auto lighting parts makers have offices searched for evidence of cartel

The Japan Fair Trade Commission has searched the head offices of four automotive lighting parts makers on suspicions of a cartel. The investigation was prompted by allegations that Koito Manufacturing Co., Stanley Electric Co., Ichikoh Industries Ltd., and Mitsuba Corp. have engaged in price-fixing and bid-rigging at auctions for auto lighting products. Such behavior was to have started from 2002.
