Bulgaria: McDonald’s operator buyout passes review

A proposed buyout of an operator of fast-food giant McDonald’s in Bulgaria has been cleared by the Commission for Protection of Competition, say reports. The watchdog green-lit the buyout of Sunfoods Holding, based in the Netherlands, by Kingsbury Corporation, finding no significant threat to competition within Bulgaria’s fast food sector. Sunfoods in Bulgaria has been in operation for 19 years, say reports, and is the current development licensee of the McDonald’s brand in the country.
