Bulgaria: Target moves to electric cos

A probe has been initiated by the Bulgarian Commission for Protection of Competition into three of the nation’s regional electricity companies in response to allegations that the three colluded to make secret agreements in efforts to prevent customers from switching electric suppliers. The CPC has also announced that their investigation will work closely with the European Commission’s DGComp Antitrust, energy and environment department, and that findings of the probe will be revealed to DGComp when the investigation is completed. The regional companies are controlled by CEZ, EVN and Energo-Pro. The CPC announced visits to various offices on Thursday as part of the investigation.
