This document is a result of a literature review that describes the importance of factors that determine the Business Model Innovation (BMI) creating competitive advantage. Thus, the contribution is to introduce the reader from the basics of what is a business model, sustainability recommendations, why are there better models than others, their archetypes from the financial point of view and the customer value added. After this, the document describes what is the BMI, its importance for the competitive advantage, what promotes it, how it is designed, different models BMI, how it is implemented, barriers and future in the acquisition of competitive advantage.
