Canada: Canada competition watchdog sues Bell, Rogers, Telus

The Competition Bureau goes against Canada’s top wireless companies. It wants that BCE Inc.’s Bell Canada unit, Rogers Communications Inc., Telus Corp. and the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications, an industry group, stop using what the Bureau alleges is “misleading advertising” to promote “costly premium texting services,” and to compensate consumers. The Bureau is seeking a total of USD 31 million for misleading advertising.
