DLA Piper, an international law firm with 4,200 lawyers in 30 countries, is merging with Vancouver-based Davis LLP. Partners of Davis LLP agreed to the merger in a vote held last week. When the merger closes in April, Davis LLP will become known as DLA Piper LLP.
“This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to join a leading-edge global firm with high-profile legal professionals committed to helping clients succeed through practical and innovative legal solutions,” said Robert Seidel, managing partner of Davis, in a statement.
“Canada has been, for some time, an integral part of our global strategy,” said Roger Meltzer, global co-chair and co-chair (Americas) of DLA Piper. “Davis is a firm with a long and successful history and the right combination of talent and experience centered on core areas of DLA Piper’s focus.”
