Canada: The verdict is in for those accused of fixing gas prices

The verdict is in: the Quebec Superior Court has found three individuals guilty for fixing gas prices, a decision resulting from the Competition Bureau’s investigation into the matter. Michel Lagrandeur, Linda Proulx and Yves Gosselin were found guilty of fixing retail gas prices at the pump and will be sentenced at a later time. Interim Commissioner of Competition John Pecman praised the outcome of the case, stating it sent “a clear message” that the nation would not tolerate bid-rigging.
