Cartel suspicions led to inspections of sewage pipe companies

The European Commission has confirmed that officials undertook unannounced inspections at the premises of sewage pipe and pipe fitting companies in several Member States. The raids took place on June 26, 2012. Companies inspected include Tessenderlo Chemie NV and Wienerberger AG. The Commission, as well as the national competition authorities, are investigating possible collusion between the companies, using agreements and concerted practices.
