CCI probes sugar packaging market, sends jute mills notices

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has sent notices to seven jute mills in West Bengal. The Indian Sugar Mills Association, the National Federation of Co-operative Sugar Factories and the All India Flat Tape Manufacturers Association accused the Indian Jute Mills Association and the Gunny Trades Association of fixing and manipulating prices in the sugar packaging market.

The CCI notices ask about price, actual transactions, quotations, bulletin displays, sale price and production and material cost, and audited profit and loss accounts for the last three years.
