China: Authorities allow food merger between Dole, ITOCHU

According to Dole Food Company Inc., the Chinese Ministry of Commerce has approved of the food company to collaborate with ITOCHU Corporation, a Japanese trade company. The Chinese antitrust authority has apparently approved for Dole to sell its global packaged foods, as well as its Asia produce business, to ITOCHU. Dole has announced that authorities approved of the merger without conditions or exceptions; the company expects to complete the transaction within the next 30 days.
