China: Five years on, Anti-Monopoly Law still faces new challenges

With the recognition of the five-year anniversary of the implementation of China’s Anti-Monopoly Law, top competition officials gathered for the China Competition Policy Forum-Competition Policy in Transition to reflect on the last five years and prepare for the years ahead. The gathering’s theme of retrospective review inspired the event’s speakers to applaud the legislation’s achievements as well as speed bumps, particularly near the beginning of its implementation, said Advisory Board of the State Council Anti-monopoly Commission expert Wang Xiaoye. Participants concluded that the future of the nation’s competition legislation must focus on “the continuous deepening of reform,” say reports.
