China: Huawei CEO supports Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent merger

Eric Xu, deputy chairman and rotating CEO of Huawei, claimed the Chinese vendor is “pleased to see consolidation” through the planned €15.6 billion acquisition of Alcatel-Lucent by Nokia.

“Personally, I think this outcome is a must,” he said.

Xu concluded by saying that the main players in the telco industry can make the ‘industry ready for the future’, which tied in nicely to the key message of his keynote – that of collaboration, openness and cooperation in the connected world.
