China/India: First instance emerges of Chinese co affected by Indian antitrust law

In what’s believed to be the first incidence of its kind, the Competition Commission of India has launched an inquiry into a Chinese firm over complaints the China-based company is acting anti-competitively. The CCI has received a complaint from Transparent Energy Systems alleging that Chinese waste heat recovery solutions company Nanjing Triumph Kaineng is hampering competition by settling below-market prices when quoting tenders. NTK first entered the market in India in 2011 with its joint venture with Tecpro Systems.
