China: Two largest taxi-hailing app companies discuss merger

China’s two largest mobile taxi-hailing applications backed by Internet giants Alibaba and Tencent Holdings are discussing a merger.

Alibaba-backed Kuaidi Dache and Tencent-backed Didi Dache are in advanced talks, but a merger hasn’t been finalized and needs the support of their primary investors.

The Wall Street Journal said that the combined company would have a valuation near $6 billion.
