Commission approves state aid for Austria’s renewable energy production plan

The European Commission has approved Austria’s scheme to support renewable energy production, the 2012 Green Electricity Act. The Act is designed to move Austria toward the EU-required mandatory national renewable energy target by 2012. Support for the scheme takes the form of subsidized feed-in tariffs and investment grants.
