Commission extends and broadens probe into Italy’s Alghero airport

 |  June 28, 2012

The U.K. Office of Fair Trading has accepted undertakings offered by Dixons, Comet and Argos to improve their extended warranties. The undertakings were made in consideration of the OFT’s market study that raised concerns with the information consumers had when making decisions about extended warranties.

The three electrical retailers undertake to create a price comparison website, provide warranty information in-store and online, use mystery shoppers, and to clarify costs associated with Pay As You Go warranties.

The undertakings are accepted by the OFT in lieu of making a Market Investigation Reference to the Competition Commission.
