Commission releases draft Communication on state aid for short-term export credit insurance
The European Commission is inviting public comment on its draft Communication on state aid for short-term export credit insurance. The rules were first created in 1997, and are set to expire on December 31, 2012. The Commission reviewed the rules in light of the 2009-2011 financial crisis. The draft identifies market failures justifying public support, conditions for the provisions of export-credit insurance for marketable risks, and procedural issues.
Comments on the draft will be accepted by September 21.
