Commission scrutinizes Cisco for possible abuse of dominance

The Swiss Competition Commission began an investigation into possible abuse of dominance in the Internet network services market by Cisco. Multiven GmbH issued a complaint in January 2012 with the Swiss authority, alleging harm to consumers by bundling “software updates” and application software to its maintenance services, as well as other anticompetitive activity designed to keep Cisco the dominant entity in networking equipment.
