The distribution of goods and services to the public, known as retail, has been one of the main focus areas for scholars of competition law, both within Chile and when undertaking comparative studies. This can be traced to several motives: on the one hand, the efficiency achieved by distribution systems is essential for a properly functioning economy; on the other hand, the existence of anticompetitive practices in distribution can cause direct effects for consumers, which may allow us to make concrete the various effects of competition laws, otherwise seemingly abstract and far removed from the general public…
