Czech Republic: One of two bidders eliminated for passenger transport tender

The Czech Republic’s Transport Ministry has reportedly eliminated one of the two bidders vying for rights to railway passenger transport between Ostrava and Olomouc. A statement from the ministry announced that British firm Arriva failed to submit necessary documents concerning the education of its managing employees. Arriva will appeal its decision. RegioJet remains the only bidder at this time and, if no other bids are filed, the ministry will abolish the tender. The contract is for fifteen years.
