Delta gets CFC approval to buy equity in Aeromexico for $65 million

The Mexican Federal Competition Commission has approved Delta’s acquisition of 4.17 percent of Grupo Aeromexico’s capital stock. In exchange for $65 million, Delta received a seat on the Aeromexico Board of Directors and consolidated its alliance with Aeromexico. The alliance calls for sharing best practices in operations and sales. Furthermore, the airlines will invest equal amounts in their Maintenance, Repair and Operation business for new facilities that are to open next year.
