DOJ attorneys ask district judge to approve BCBS Montana settlement

DOJ attorneys filed a request on Monday for U.S. District Judge Richard Cebull’s approval of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Montana settlement. The settlement required BCBS to sell New West’s commercial business, to resolve antitrust charges related to BCBS’s buyout of New West Health Service’s hospital employee policyholders. PacificSource Health Plans bought the business from BCBS, and the sale was finalized on February 29.
