E.U.: Qatar pulls out of partnership with Cargolux

Less than 18 months after announcing their plan, Qatar Airlines’ proposed partnership with Cargolux has collapsed. Qatar will divest the 35 percent share in Cargolux it had acquired, according to reports. Media outlets are reporting that Qatar’s reasoning behind backing out of the deal has to do with disagreements over the direction in which the cargo business was headed. Cargolux’s chairman Albert Wildgen has also announced that he will resign from his post.
