E.U.: Revival of investigation into carrier liners by European Commission

The European Commission has announced its revival of an ongoing investigation into alleged breaches of European antitrust law, first launched in May 2011. Commission chief Herbert de Broca acknowledged a slowdown in the investigation since it began, but reassured that the silence until now did not equate to inactivity. The investigation began more than a year ago into twelve container carriers, though details remain unclear as to what evidence the European Commission has found against them.
