EU: Antitrust guidelines for maritime transport to expire without renewal

According to a press release, the European Commission has decided to let its current maritime antitrust guidelines on the application of antitrust rules to maritime transport services to expire without a renewal or revision. The current guidelines are set to expire on September 26th of this year and were first adopted in 2008. According to the press release, a public consultation was held last May and resulted in the decision not to review the guidelines as it was seen that they were no longer necessary for the industry.
