EU/Japan: Lufthansa, ANA form airline JV

ANA Holdings and Deutsche Lufthansa have reportedly announced a joint venture on cargo airline routes that connect the EU and Japan.

    According to reports, the Star Alliance companies have received clearance for their partnership after ANA received antitrust immunity for the venture by the Japan Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. Through the joint venture, ANA and Lufthansa Cargo will be able to jointly manage business endeavors, including pricing and sales, on all routes between Japan and Europe. Reports say the companies will officially sign the agreement in the coming weeks and will begin their joint operations later this year.
