FAS has support of Putin-chaired commission in Telenor challenge

Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has told the press that it has the support of the Government Commission on Monitoring Foreign Investment in its claim to overturn the Telenor-Weather deal. The Commission is chaired by Vladimir Putin.

    In February, Telenor had increased its voting stake in Vimpelcom through a deal with Weather. The FAS’s challenges the deal as a violation of the Russian Strategic Investment Law.
