Finland: Paper products merger on hold from Commission’s concerns

A Finland-based products company has announced that the European Commission has sent the body objections concerning its merger with paper manufacturer Munksjoe AB. Ahlstrom Oyj, based in Helsinki, plans to acquire 15 percent in the paper company, which will be renamed Munksjoe Oyj. In response to authoritative objections, Ahlstrom said it was working to resolve concerns and stated that it now expects the merger to be complete by the second quarter of this year. Ahlstrom’s label and processing unit will be merged into Munksjoe.
