As the competition remains heated to acquire Vivendi wireless company SFR, reports say French wireless competitor Bouygues is looking to win over skeptics of its acquisition offer with a proposal to sell spectrum to rival Iliad.
Reports say the bidding war for SFR has lead to two main contesters: Bouygues and Numericable. Some experts believe Numericable would more easily win antitrust clearance for an SFR acquisition as Numericable focuses in the cable market.
But Bouygues is reportedly offering to sell up to $2.5 billion worth of spectrum to Iliad to quell competition concerns over its desired SFR acquisition.
SFR is France’s number-two phone company, according to reports.
