France: Broadcasters appeal approved Canal Plus deal

Two French broadcasters have officially appealed a decision by the nation’s antitrust authority to approve of Canal Plus’s acquisition of Direct 8 and Direct Star. TF1 and M6 have appealed the deal to authorities, arguing the competition regulator did not place strict enough regulations on Canal Plus before its acquisition of the two free-to-air channels.
