 |  February 11, 2014

France-based telco cable provider Canal+ announced its acquisition of Mediaserv is only days away as the French Competition Authority has offered unconditional approval of the deal.

Canal+ Overseas had already concluded last June but was awaiting regulatory clearance; the operator will acquire a 51 percent stake in the firm in the French overseas territories.

Canal+ Overseas is a Canal+ subsidiary that operates in French territories and Africa; the buyout will create the first high speed broadband operator in various locations, including French Guyana and Guadeloupe.

Financial details of the acquisition were not reported.
