France: The latest in SFR bidding war

The bidding war for French telco SFR is dragging on with its latest twist, as an improved offer by Bouygues has enticed SFR owner Vivendi to ask for improved bids.

    Reports say Viventi still prefers the offer proposed by Bouygues’ bidding rival Numericable, as Numericable is less likely to face antitrust hurdles over the deal, sources say Vivendi is looking for Numericable to boost its bid to be more comparable to Bouygues’ latest offer.

    Bouygues reportedly increased its bid for the assets, despite Vivdendi choosing to hold non-binding discussions with Numericable over a three-week period.
