French pay TV operator Canal Plus has requested that the injunctions imposed in July on the firm be overturned, as it was detrimental to the firms customer base and profit margins. The Competition Authority concerning the 2006 merger of CanalSat and TPS imposed the injunction for Canal Plus to offer exclusive CanalSat cinema channels to ISPs, which according to the CEO of Canal Plus was detrimental to the firm’s future. The State Council has until 23 October to decide whether to overturn the temporary injunction.
