France: Virgin Mobile gets buyout clearance

 |  November 27, 2014

French competition authorities announced their approval for telco Numericable to acquire Virgin Mobile France, reports say.

Numericable first reached an agreement to acquire Virgin Mobile France last June for about $405 million. The assets are currently owned by UK-based Carphone Warehouse and Virgin Group.

The deal had been given clearance last month but authorities imposed concessions on the deal and said Numericable must sell certain assets and make its cable network available to rivals for rent. Those demands were reiterated by the Competition Authority on Thursday when officials signed off on the deal.
