Germany: Deutsche Post accused of slashing prices to force competition out

The German Cartel Office has opened an investigation into the nation’s largest postal services provider Deutsche Post AG over allegations that the company made moves to dominate over the competition by cutting prices. The accusations were made from rivaling postal service companies, though the Cartel Office declined to name who, specifically, had made claims that Deutsche Post offers slashed prices for their services that do not adequately cover costs. The company’s biggest competitor is PostNL.
