According to a press release, Vodafone has official filed for approval to acquire cable giant Kabel Deutschland following what Vodafone’s Germany unit described as “constructive talks.” The European Commission will now review the deal, which could last several weeks. Germany’s antitrust watchdog has until early September to request a takeover of the probe, however, a request that can be denied by the Commission.
