Germany: Nation closes two-year steel cartel probe

German competition authorities have reportedly closed an investigation launched nearly two years ago into allegations of a steel cartel.

    Reports say the German Cartel Authority, which launched its investigation in February 2013 over suspected collusion between steel makers regarding steel strip and semi-finished products, has closed the case, but authorities did not name the steelmakers that were under investigation.

    ThyssenKrupp confirmed last year that it had been searched by the regulator as part of the case.
