Germany: Slim’s buyout bid won’t stop Telefonica’s pursuit for E-Plus

The German unit of Telefonica Deutschland Holding said Friday the company will continue to pursue Royal KPN’s E-Plus, based in Germany, despite telco mogul Carlos Slim’s announcement last week that his America Movil will look to buy KPN. Telefonica also said the deal’s current agreed-upon conditions will remain. The parties first announced the sale of E-Plus to Spain’s Telefonica unit last July for a $10.8 billion deal, though remains subject to both shareholder and antitrust regulatory approval. America Movil currently owns nearly 30 percent of KPN.
