Germany: Struggling cable co Tele Columbus sees several suitors

Several parties have shown interest in the financially struggling cable operator Tele Columbus, according to reports.

    The German regional operator could be combined with competitor PrimaCom, according to sources. Potential buyers were named by those sources as Cinven Group and CVC Capital Partners.

    Tele Columbus had been up for grabs previously, but a deal for Kabel Deutschland to acquire the company was blocked by Germany’s Federal Cartel Office citing competition concerns. That deal would have been made for more than $800 million.
