Germany: ThyssenKrupp board member investigated over alleged antitrust violations

An executive board member of Germany’s largest steelmaker faces possible dismissal from his position for alleged violations of antitrust laws. ThyssenKrupp AG has hired legal representatives to investigate whether Edqin Eichler violated competition laws in the railway-steel market; Eichler declined to comment on the probe. A unit of ThyssenKrupp was fined $134 million last July by the nation’s Federal Cartel Office for similar charges.
