The World Economic Forum’s annual Global Competitiveness Report 2013-2014 was published earlier this month, revealing its ranking of national economic competitiveness for nations throughout the world.
The WEF report includes rankings of nations with the most effective antimonopoly policy, which assesses which nation’s competition regulations promote competition most effectively.
According to the WEF’s report, Finland earned the top spot for the most effective antimonopoly policy.
Finland was followed, in order, by Qatar, Sweden, Singapore, and the Netherlands.
The US ranked fourteenth in this category.
The report also ranked the nations whose local markets are the most competitively intense.
Japan was ranked as the most competitive local market according to the WEF, followed by, in order, Taiwan, China; the UK; Malta, and the Netherlands.
The United States ranked fourteenth in this category as well.
The report, which can be read in full through the link below, includes various measures of economic competition; the two categories above can be read under Pillar 6 of the report.
