Greece: Aegean’s chances at Olympic merger higher than before

Experts expect Aegean Airlines’ proposed acquisition of Olympic Air SA to have a far better chance of success after a first attempt at the plan failed less than two years earlier. Market strategists argue that struggling finances of airlines, combined with the addition of a new competitor, have significantly raised the likelihood of a merger approval. Additionally, Aegean’s proposal is smaller than 2011’s, set forth at $93 million.
