Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has recruited antitrust and competition specialist Sébastien Evrard from Jones Day as a partner in its Hong Kong office.
Evrard’s work covers inbound and outbound competition work within Asia and the EU, including merger control and abuse of dominance and cartels, counseling and compliance work, as well as antitrust-related investigations and litigation matters.
He also has extensive experience in the antitrust aspects of IP rights, and has acted for companies in various industries, such as telecommunications, media and entertainment, technology, automotive, oil and gas, and aviation.
Evrard started practising in Brussels in 1996 and joined Jones Day in 2003, where he worked in the Brussels, Beijing and Hong Kong offices.
“The rapid emergence of Chinese competition enforcement, Hong Kong’s new competition law, and cross-border enforcement across the region has made antitrust regulation a key consideration for firms doing business in Asia,” said Dan Swanson, co-chair of Gibson Dunn’s antitrust and competition practice group, in a statement.
