India: CCI looks into public procurement orders to discover collusive conduct

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) announced that it is looking at the possibility of bid-rigging activities in some public procurement contracts in recent times, but the dates were not disclosed. Bid-rigging helps bidders collude and distorts fair pricing in the bidding process. The CCI has especially been on watch since April, as it found three entities United Phosphorus, Excel Crop Care, and Sandhya Organics involved in collusive bidding in the supply of aluminum phosphate tablets to the Food Corporation of India (FCI).
