India: CCI says tire industry in the clear

The Competition Commission of India has found no evidence of cartels within the nation’s tire industry, it has announced. The CCI was investigating several tire manufacturers including Apollo Tyres, MRF, JK Tyre, CEAT and Birla Tyres; collectively, they control more than 95 percent of the tire sector. The investigation began in 2010. No charges or fines will be administered.
