India: Ford off the hook in dominance abuse accusations

Ford India and its dealer earned a victory as the Competition Commission of India rejected a complaint accusing the company of abusing its market dominance.

According to reports, the complainant, an individual, accused Ford of abusing its market power in the sport utility vehicle industry by hiking prices. The complainant claims that Ford unfairly raised the cost of his vehicle after a down payment was made.

But the CCI found no evidence to support claims made against Ford and its dealer, Harpreet Motors. The watchdog has therefore dismissed the case, say reports.
