India: Increase in competition cases means vacant job positions at DG office

A “significant chunk” of about 40 positions within the Competition Commission of India’s Director General office remains vacant, according to reports. In light of increases in cases surrounding anti-competitive practices in the nation referred by the CCI to the DG, the Director General office is scrambling to fill the vacant positions. A source has said about 25 employees had filled the 40 slots until early October, though the current number of employees at the DG is unknown.
